If sunshine, sandy paws sound like your kind of day, you won’t want to miss our upcoming MGMC field trip to Bonita Dog Beach! We’re gearing up for a beachside adventure packed with off-leash fun, splashing in the surf, and a few tasty surprises along the way.
Why Bonita Dog Beach?
Bonita Dog Beach is a true paradise for pups. This off-leash beach is nestled between Bonita Springs and Lovers Key, offering calm shallow waters, room to roam, and a welcoming vibe for dog lovers. It’s the perfect spot for our Golden crew to run free, cool off in the ocean, and make new furry friends.
⏰ Meet-Up Details
We’ll be meeting at 9:30 AM sharp in the parking area just off Estero Blvd. There’s free parking available, but spots can fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early or carpooling.
💦 High Tide Heads-Up: Bring a Raft!
One unique thing about Bonita Dog Beach is the walk to get there. To access the beach, you’ll need to cross through Big Carlos Pass, a scenic waterway that can be ankle to knee-deep during high tide.
⚠️ High tide on June 21 is around 9:41 AM, so water levels may rise while we’re heading in. We highly recommend bringing a small inflatable raft or floating tote to carry your gear or small dogs across comfortably!

For Your Pup:
1.Leash & harness (for arrival/departure).
2. Fresh water & collapsible bowl
3. Towel & dog shampoo (there’s a rinse station!)
4. Poop bags
5. Floating toys or balls
6. Portable shade
7.Dog treats/snacks
8. Optional life vest for water-shy pups and water shoes if you feel that your pup need it

Sunscreen, hat & sunglasses

Yes – there’s a rinse-off shower for humans too!
🍔 Surprise Bonus: BBQ & Ice Cream Boats!
If you’re lucky, the famous Nauti Girl Bad Bouy BBQ Boat might cruise by! They often anchor just offshore, serving up beachside ribs, brisket, burgers, mac ‘n’ cheese, and sometimes even ice cream.
While it’s a fun and delicious treat, their presence isn’t guaranteed—so pack snacks just in case.
