Successful Histories

Bingo

I like stories with a happy ending. And this is one of them.  When Bingo was found by Dany; @thegoldenboythor’s mom, he was in very bad condition. He was used several times for breeding. His previous owners kept him outside the house at all times.  He was severely mistreated and easily scared. Bingo runs away from his previous house more than 10 times.  Animal control picked him up so many times that they decided to put him to sleep. Many police reports were made but as the previous owners were part of the Seminole community, not much they could do about the situation. Dany took Bingo under her care. She fostered him for a couple of months, and after a rigorous screening of potential adopters, the perfect family for Bingo was found. Today Bingo has all the love he deserves, with two beautiful souls that love him and show him daily how special he is.  He came recently to our Events and reunited with all his friends. You can follow all his adventures on his Instagram account @bingofrommiami

Bella

Sometimes life has a hard beginning. This was the case for Bella and her sister Becky. Both, with other male golden and Becky’s recent little, lived outside 24/7, in terrible condition. They never knew any human affection or other life than their cemented backyard.  When a member reached out to me for help to rehome them, I couldn’t imagine the situation Bella was found. I shared the situation with the golden mom squad.  All of them offer to foster her. Dany picked both female golden, Bella and Becky, and fostered them for a few weeks.  Despite her minor health state (various hot spots, ear infection) Bella had never experienced so much love and peace.  She began to show her true personality and came out of her box. Now she is finally with a family that will give her the life she has missed for 5 years.

Becky

Becky, with her sister Bella, were in the same house. Living outside 24/7 in a cemented backyard. She was used for breeding and had a recent little when she was moved to the foster home. Unfortunately, as she was surrendered by her previous owner we were unable to do something about her little. As her sister Bella, she had some minor health issues (ear infection and hot spot in her head and paws). During the few weeks she was fostered, she bloomed into a playful and loving golden. Becky is ready to go to her forever home after her spay day (5/20/2023) and recovery. She is still in her foster home.

Update 5/14/2023 Bechy was reunited with Chloe one of her pups. You can see a video of their reunion on our IG page.

Chloe baby was fostered and adopted already. Reed her story below

Kanen

Not all stories have a bad start. And this is a love story that didn’t end but continued. Kanen’s previous owner contacted me asking for help finding a good family for him. Due to his working schedule and numerous work travels, he felt that he wasn’t given Kanen the life he needed. So he asked for help to find a family with children, as he had lovely memories of growing up with golden retrievers. And of course, a perfect family was ready for Kanen.  Today he has two siblings who spoil him.  His best friend still visits him to hang out together. Kanen’s story shows us that sometimes we need to make difficult decisions for the sake of those we love.

Cali

As described before in Becky’s story, Chloe now Cali, was one of her little ones. Her owner decided to surrender 11 weeks  Chloe, and again Dany took her under her care.

She already knew a family that lost their previous golden a while ago due to his age, and they were ready for adoption.

Becky and Cali were able to see each other before she traveled to her forever home.

Cali will be trained to be a service dog in the future. Pretty sure that with her sweet temperament and great intelligence, she will be an amazing service dog for her new mama. You can follow her journey  on her IG profile: cali_the_golden_retriever1

Becky and Cali reunion before Cali’s adoption

Gordon

Gordon, today Andy was a call from a breeder.

Andy was returned after only a few days in his new home. Breeder tried to find him a new forever home but after trying for 4 months he decided to ask us for help.

Despite being only 6 months old, Andy showed a very calm personality. So we found a perfect home for him. A house with children and a middle-aged man that was in need of a calm dog.  From now on he will be his best friend and partner for the rest of his life.

Toby

This cutie was a puppy present for a wonderful older lady whose family wants that she had some company. Unfortunately due to her age, a 3-month-old puppy was too much to handle. So one of her nephews contacts us to help find a good family for Toby.  Rehoming puppies is very easy but tricky, as they are young there’s always a risk of people wanting a dog for breeding. We ensure that he went to a safe home that will provide a happy life only as a family dog. Today he enjoys the company of a human sister and  2 wonderful parents that spoil him.

Ariel

Some fosters touch your soul in a way that you can’t explain, this was the case of Ariel and her brother Enzo. Ariel, alongside her brother, was a call for help actually from a breeder. She was asked to help to rehome Ariel and her brother as they were the last of the little that the person who bred them could not sell.  She immediately calls me and brings them to my house. When Ariel came to my house she was extremely skinny, hungry, and had medical necessities to cover immediately as she was having bloody diarrhea. She was lack of almost all vaccines and she had skin irritation. Vet attention was provided and we started her adoption process. Today Ariel has a loving home with a big golden sister and a human sister as well.  She is gaining step-by-step weight and her skin condition has improved tremendously

Enzo

Like his sister Ariel, Enzo was from a BYB. Even though he was in better condition than his sister, he was presenting diarrhea, irritation, and some anemia due to intestinal parasites. Same as his sister he was missing his vaccinations and also skinny for his age. Proper vet care was given and as his sister a good and lovely family was found for him, also with a golden brother, who despite being much older than him, was very happy to have a new addition at home.

Gatsby

Almost 2 year old energetic and playful Gatsby was a rehome that we help the owner to make. Although is a really good boy, his previous owner felt that he needed to be with someone that could provide a life style that fulfill Gatsby’s need. we help to find the perfect family for him. Follow all their adventures in his IG : agoldennamedgatsby

Ravioli

Ravioli, with the rest of his pack, was our biggest rehome. His former owner was a retired breeder, and due to health issues decided to rehome some of the dogs that he owned. after a lot of talk agreement was made to rehome the entire pack. Now Ravioli is having a peaceful life full of love

Honey and Zoey

Zoey and Honey came from the same house as Ravioli. The family initially was only interested in Honey. But the moment they saw Zoey, she reminded them of their previous golden retriever who passed away a few years ago. Zoey and Honey instantly bond with them. With so much joy I can say that they have the best parents

Peaches (Nyla)

Peaches, named  Nyla by her new family, was part of the big pack from a breeder. She was one of the most timid of the group. Today she is living her best time at Gainesville with his new parents, who with love and patience, day by day are making her open more to the world

Lexie

Lexie was one of these stories on choosing one another. The family that adopted her was looking into a youngest pup. As they have a very young child they were expecting to find a young pup that can grow up with the baby. But destiny has its ways and both Lexie and the little man fell in love with each other very quickly. The natural calmness of Lexie gave the child the confidence to call her his. Sometimes your soul dog appears in the most mysterious way

Cody

As Cody was one of the oldest,  3 times he was too old to be adopted by the people who applied and met him. Even some of them did not show up for the meet and greet. Then a family with 2 other dogs adopted him. We thought that he finally found his forever home. Sadly this family returned him after only a week. We started the process for adoption again and a new family fell in love with Cody. After a proper meet and greet with the golden that they already had we noticed that it was an instant click between them. Now Cody is having a big family that loves him.

Lindsay

Lindsey was the las of the pack to be adopted. The person who applied for her before did not appear on the day of adoption. And this was a stroke of luck for her. A better family was destined to adopt her. She also has a new sister to  share all the new adventures

Duke

Duke is a 3 year old that due to his owner’s work schedule needed a new home. He was having some behavior issues (food resource guarding) so we decided that the best family for him was a house with no other pets and no children and a family that could work with him on his behavior problems. and of course, there was a perfect family for him. Now he is in a loving and caring home, with proper training and structure, and even with a new best friend that comes every day to visit

Candy

Candy was a call for owner surrender. With only 6 months she was living her short new life inside a crate for 10-plus hours.  Some of our volunteer girls were able to pick her up and take her to her foster home. After a vet visit and proper assessment Candy was ready for adoption. Today she has a big backyard to run in and no more long hours in a crate

Kylo 1

month Old Kylo (1) was a call from a family that unfortunately had an older dog at home that was attacking Kylo. Sometimes hard decisions for the better good are the sadest, but the correct one. His previous family thought that Kylo deserved a home where he could live a peaceful life, with a family with no other dog that could give him the structure that he needed. And of course, MGMC found the perfect one. Kylo now lives in Orlando with a young lady that will provide all that he needs.

Archie (Maui)

Archie (Maui) was surrendered by the owner, who noticed that his child was very allergic after accepting him from a friend.

MGMC always advises to owners that do research before buying or adopting a puppy, and even more when they decide to breed their dogs. Archie was given to a family that we had screened and accepted for adoption. Now he lives with an older sister that is teaching him the golden way

Kylo 2

MGMC always tried to do a hard screening on people who apply to adopt from us. And although we are not a rescue but a golden community, we take the well-being of our goldens very seriously. Kylo was a call by an owner who wanted to rehome him because they reported that Kylo had resource guarding. We present  a family that was, supposedly, aware and willing to do training with him. To make a story short, Kylo had no behavior issues, and the family that adopted him returned just because he was very energetic.

At this point, we ran out of options so we contacted the Golden Retriever Rescue of South Florida, who helped us to find a foster for adoption for Kylo.  He was adopted and now lives with a family that is willing to go sky and beyond for him

Max

Max was a 2-year-old pup that was only having bad luck. His previous owner moved and could not take him with them, so they left Max with a family member. Unfortunately, the person who was taking care of him could not have him for longer, so they contacted us for help.

We found a perfect family form him, and guess what, he is now the CEO of Pet Wants Pet store ( @petwantsweston on IG) Sometimes luck just smiles at you.  Follow their store
