On this page, you can find all the Goldens Retrievers that could be available for adoption or rehome.  Sometimes you can find too, others breed that we are trying to help. We must consider many factors before placing a dog into a forever home. Every Golden Retriever that we help has a different story. Some of them were mistreated or neglected, and some others simply need a new home as their owners, for specific reasons can’t have them anymore.

If the dog has been fostered, the foster home will provide you with detailed information on everything they’ve learned about the dog that you want to adopt during his/ her time with them. Bear in mind, however, in some cases, we know little or nothing of the dog’s prior history, behavior, or health before they came to us. 

Is crucial before you submit any application to adopt any dog for adoption that after you bring a adopted to the new home it could develop some unwanted or no previously seen behaviors. The majority of adopted or rehomed dogs need TIME AND PATIENCE to adjust to the new home. Typically this time can last up to 3 to 4 months and that is what is called the 3-3-3 Rule for adoption 

Understanding the  3-3-3 rule

This rule is a general guideline that represents the phases of a rescue dog or common milestones your new dog or puppy will go through… it is the first 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months after bringing your dog home. Every situation is different and every dog’s experience will be unique. In most cases, however, it will take your dog some time to get adjusted to its new environment.

Whether you rescue an older dog or a puppy, a lot of dogs tend to follow the 3-3-3 rule when getting acclimated:

• 3 days of feeling overwhelmed and nervous
• 3 weeks of settling in
• 3 months of building trust and bonding with you
